Auto shop — Murdoku Cases

Ramps, a pit, a parts store and a forecourt — cases where half the floor plan is machinery.

The Auto shop Setting

Service bays with cars up on ramps, an inspection pit, a tyre store, a paint booth, a cramped office with the invoices, and a forecourt open to the street. Workshops are unusually vertical for a floor plan: the pit and the ramps mean people are near each other without being beside each other.

Solving a Auto shop Case

A small theme with a distinctive feel, because so much of the space is occupied by objects rather than rooms. Object clues do most of the eliminating here, and the forecourt introduces the inside-outside distinction that a purely indoor case never needs.

Rooms You Will Search

A case picks its floor plan from this theme’s room pool, so the same places recur across the drawer and you learn to read them: Workshop, Storage, Office, Waiting Area, Yard, Wash Bay, Parts Store, Tire Store, Reception, Paint Shop, Assembly Bay, Test Bay, Break Room, Checkout, Gas Station. No single case uses all of them — the generator and the hand-built cases alike take a subset, which is why two cases in the same setting can still feel unalike.

What This Drawer Holds

4 cases — 1 easy, 3 hard, on boards from 7×7 to 8×8. Every one is verified to have a single solution reachable by forward deduction alone, so none of them needs a guess.
