Galleries, statues and a great staircase — the stately interiors, where the floor plan is as much a suspect as the guests.
Long exhibition halls, a vault, a lobby with a desk nobody was behind, a café that closed early, a security room whose screens were facing the wrong way. Manor and museum share a shape: grand public rooms with small private ones tucked behind them, and a great deal of space for someone to be somewhere they should not have been.
Big rooms are the defining feature here, and they invert the usual advice. A clue placing someone in a gallery barely narrows anything, so these cases lean on relationships instead — who was north of whom, who was diagonally within reach. Expect to spend longer with the board wide open than in any domestic case.
A case picks its floor plan from this theme’s room pool, so the same places recur across the drawer and you learn to read them: Entrance Hall, Salon, Dining Hall, Ballroom, Library, Music Room, Main Gallery, Vault, Boudoir, Smoking Room, Wine Cellar, Greenhouse, Servants' Room, Archive, Fireside Room. No single case uses all of them — the generator and the hand-built cases alike take a subset, which is why two cases in the same setting can still feel unalike.
6 cases — 2 easy, 3 medium, 1 hard, on boards from 6×6 to 10×10. Every one is verified to have a single solution reachable by forward deduction alone, so none of them needs a guess.
