Murdoku installs straight from this website. No app store to visit, no download to wait for, no account to create: your browser adds it to your home screen or dock, and it opens in its own window like any other app, without the address bar.
Open murdokuonline.org and either accept the install banner when it appears, or open the browser menu and choose Install app (sometimes Add to Home screen). Murdoku then behaves like any installed app: its own icon, its own window, no browser chrome.
Open murdokuonline.org in Safari, press the Share button, and choose Add to Home Screen. iOS does not offer an install banner, so this is the route — the result is identical.
Open the site and look for the install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar, or use the browser menu and choose Install Murdoku. It then appears among your applications and opens in a plain window, which suits a puzzle rather better than a tab does.
Murdoku is not a large program. The whole game — every case, the editor, the generator and the solver that verifies each puzzle — runs inside the browser, so installing it is a matter of keeping a shortcut and a copy of the page rather than fetching an installer. That is also why nothing ever needs updating: you always open the current version.
It also means your data stays yours. Progress, solved cases and settings live on your own device, not in an account, so nothing needs signing into and nothing needs deleting later.
An Android build of Murdoku exists, and the installable web app above is the same game from the same source. No Steam release is planned. If you were looking for a desktop version, installing from Chrome or Edge gives you a real application window on Windows, macOS and Linux alike — which is the thing a desktop release would have given you.
Nothing here is gated behind installing. Play Murdoku in the browser exactly as you would installed, or print a case and solve it on paper with a pencil. Installing only saves you the trip through a bookmark.
